Viet Yum Food Truck Will Make Your Mouth Water With Exclusive Viet Tots
I’m all about a good food truck and Viet Yum will make your mouth water with their exclusive Viet Tots.
A few weeks back I was at Fort Myers Brewing Company for their Christmas in July event with my parents who came in for a visit from out of town. My dad is always interested in trying new breweries, and they had some special beers on tap for the event, so we had to go. Little did we know that night, in addition to falling in love with some new beers, that we too would fall in love with a new food truck. New to us, anyway.
Viet Yum is a food truck owned by husband and wife AJ and Christina Bordelon. The “Viet” comes from AJ’s Vietnamese mom and the couple is on a mission to use diverse and fresh ingredients in their dishes in a delicious way. Both AJ and his daughter were working the truck that night and they were both so incredibly sweet and helpful when we asked for recommendations. We’re always looking for something unique. Viet Yum’s slogan is “Taste so good you’ll speak another language”- and it is!
What does their menu look like?
We tried two different dishes that night, though I can’t wait to try more. We had the Viet Tots. Picture tater tots with sauced caramelized pork with green onions, sour cream and cucumber on top. They were seriously SO good, we talked about them for days after.
We also had the Saigon Sticky Wings. I’m not sure what kind of sauce was on these wings, but man was it good. The chicken was so tender, it melted off the bone and because the wings were served over a bed of rice, we ate every little bit of that up too.
Also on their menu is a Banh Mi Bowl my buddy Kris (who is a chef himself) RAVES about, so that’s what I’ll try next. They have some other bowls too, chicken thighs, ribs and more.
For a calendar on where they’ll be next, you can find them on Instagram, Facebook or on their website
