Christmas is a time of year I look forward to every year. Something about the lights, the decorations, the music, the hustle and bustle and of course time with family and friends make the season so special. It's great being in Florida where you can have all fun of the holiday but without the cold weather the majority of the country is experiencing this time of year. And of course the goal every year is to make Santa's nice list. Who doesn't love waking up on Christmas morning to gifts under the tree?

But have you ever thought about which cities Santa has the easiest time delivering all those presents? And which are more of struggle? Let's just say one city in Florida is a bit of a challenge for the man in red.

Mercury Insurance put together a list of the most Santa friendly cities in America looking at all the things that Santa needs to make his trip on Christmas Eve the smoothest. Things like chimney access, how many kids there are, average snowfall, community spirit, how big the cities are and even local bakeries, because we all know Santa and cookies go together like peanut butter and jelly.

The most Santa-friendly city in the U.S. is Chicago, with Los Angeles being the city with the most Christmas spirit. Boston, Indianapolis, Aurora, CO and Newark, NJ round out the top 5.

When it comes to the least Santa-friendly cities, Honolulu is on top. Let's face it, in Hawaii there aren't a whole lot of chimneys and no snow either. So while Santa faces some challenges, have no fear, Rudolph knows where he's going. But that also means that cities with similar weather, like Jacksonville, FL and Albuquerque, NM also make the list. Hey, at least we provide somewhere along Santa's journey for him to warm up!
