In a generous gesture, Roger and Kristen Lolly brought joy to Pine Island Elementary School by donating 160 bicycles to students' families. The timing was perfect — many local homes are still recovering from recent floods and storms that hit the coast.

"There's a lot of good people now on the island that stepped up and are doing good things, but I don't think there's, you can't have too many programs out there that can help the kids, so we're just trying to do our part and help,” Roger Lolly told Fox 4 News.

The school staff was caught by surprise. Principal Michael Galbreath got an unexpected phone call about the donation. Students will take their new bikes home just before winter break begins.

Mr. Lolly chose his old elementary school for this special gift. Having walked those same halls as a kid sparked his desire to give back to the community that helped raise him.

But the bikes are just the beginning. By 2025, the Lollys will open a new community center where kids can get tutoring help.
