More Restaurants Open on Sanibel And Captiva
It’s been a long year and half since Hurricane Ian and even more restaurants are open on Sanibel and Captiva islands.
Living in Southwest Florida truly is paradise. Sometimes I look around while sitting on my lanai and just take in the beauty and think to myself “Why didn’t I move here sooner?” It’s been almost 5 years since I arrived in Fort Myers and it’s one of the best decisions I ever made. When you move to a new place, it’s hard to know exactly where will be the best spot, best neighborhood, etc. I had a job on the beach at the time, so being as close as possible was a priority for me. And I definitely hit the jackpot. It takes me 8 minutes to get to Fort Myers Beach and about 20 to drive to Sanibel. You might feel this way too- there’s something about driving over the Causeway Bridge that just takes me away and gives me a feeling of being on vacation. While the islands don’t look the same since the hurricane hit, they’re really coming along. And the beaches are as beautiful as ever. It was about a year after Hurricane Ian hit that I reported on 25 restaurants open on Sanibel and Captiva. But even more have opened since then.
