Cape Coral Man: Sean Michael Raynes Arrested for Whacking Victim with Mallet
A bad day just worse for one Cape Coral Man, Sean Michael Raynes was arrested for whacking his victim with mallet and breaking a court order.
Before throwing a barrage of punches, Sean Michael Raynes allegedly said to his victim, “We are going to have a bad day today. ” He had no idea that he would have a worse day than others. Following two reports from people reporting a battery at the same address, the Cape Coral Police decided to keep a close eye on the location.
Finally, after a two-hour stakeout, the garage door creaked open to reveal the victim, who was badly beaten and bruised. The victim quickly informed the officers of the assaults that took place. They revealed the evidence of the beatings to police. The Proof included blood stains and the weapon used, a mallet.

However, Sean’s trouble didn’t end there. He also broke a no-contact order with the victim. This was confirmed by the police. Ironically, Sean “may have” already had an active protection order in place with the victim! According to NBC2, that didn’t stop him from unleashing blows and using a mallet.
The officers noted the victim’s fresh cuts and bruises and arrested Sean on several charges. These included aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and contempt of court.
Let this serve as a lesson to all those who think it’s acceptable to beat someone with a mallet and break a no-contact order. Cape Coral Police will not tolerate such behavior. If you think you’re going to have a bad day, just wait until they show up.

The state of Florida has been around since March 3, 1845. And in that time a lot of Florida weird laws have been passed that have now become very outdated. Most of these laws stay on the books and are widely ignored. There used to be a law that stated “unmarried couples may not live together and commit “lewd acts.” According to FloridaLaw, “A Florida law that banned unmarried couples from living together dating back to post-Civil War Reconstruction is no more. Gov. Rick Scott signed SB 498 which repealed a law that made it a misdemeanor “if any man and woman, not being married to each other, lewdly and lasciviously associate and cohabit together.”
But for every one of these outdated laws that have been removed, many, many more remain. There’s a lot of Florida Weird Laws throughout the state to appreciate, but I’m going to focus on the ones that most affect us here in Southwest Florida. 2 of these are Cape Coral specific. There’s actually 11 on this list but I found another Cape Coral one after I had finished. I wasn’t going to leave it out, amiright? Maybe I should spend some more time just looking through Cape Coral laws. I’m probably only just scratching the surface.
