Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Ji-Man Choi does more than just play baseball. Apparently he channels spirits from the afterlife, too. According to mlb.com “The first time, Choi said, was shortly after back surgery in 2011. He felt a spirit on his chest that awoke him, and then he felt the bed slump. “I was scared at first,” Choi said, “so I didn’t want to open my eyes. I dealt with that a lot more times after that.” Another time, Choi claims to have been laying on his side when he felt a spirit crawling up behind him, then felt a hug and heard some murmuring in his ear. ”
A ghost hugged him and then whispered in his ear? That’s a bit over the line. Ji-Man Choi is from South Korea, and I gotta say – if I’m in a foreign country that does free ghost hugs and creepy ear whispering, I’m out. I’d be on a plane heading back home. But Choi just rolls with it. Apparently it’s such a common occurrence to him that they put it up on the scoreboard during a game last night. Choi originally played for the Angels, so they had some background on him.
