The temperature here in Southwest Florida may not feel like fall, but DQ’s recent announcement might make a difference. DQ has announced 6 new Blizzard Flavors in Florida for the fall menu.
Since we don’t get the chilly weather this time of year, and it’s still BRUTALLY hot outside, it’s the perfect time to give one of these new flavors a try. And to cool off.
If you’re not familiar with a Dairy Queen Blizzard, here’s what it is, according to Wikipedia:
A popular Dairy Queen item is the Blizzard, which is soft-serve mechanically blended with mix-in ingredients such as sundae toppings and/or pieces of cookies, brownies, or candy. It has been a staple on the menu since its introduction in 1985, a year in which Dairy Queen sold more than 100 million Blizzards.
My kids love a Blizzard. They also love the “flip” they do before serving it to you. If you don’t know about the “flip”, it’s when the cup is flipped over before serving to prove it’s thickness. If anything spills out, the Blizzard is free.
