Collier County Votes To Allow Permanent Food Truck Operations in Commercial Zones
In a unanimous vote last Tuesday, Collier County’s Board of Commissioners changed local land rules to allow food trucks to set up permanently in commercial areas and public parks.
The new rules require truck owners to get special permits for approved spots. Final approval depends on a key Jan. 28 meeting, where at least four commissioners need to support the plan.
A revision added by Commissioner Bill McDaniel Jr will require the food trucks to apply for a conditional-use permit instead of being allowed “by right” in certain locations.
