Florida Everblades Game 5: Regrouping
After an unexpected loss in game 4 last night, The Florida Everblades are looking to regroup in game 5 against the Orlando Solar Bears. The Everblades dug themselves into a hole early on in the first by not only scoring an own goal, but allowing Orlando to score soon after it to make it 2-0.
“At the start I think they came ready to go from puck drop,” said Everblades forward Todd Skirving. “This deep into the series it’s hard to put away a team but I thought they came out tonight better than we did; obviously that showed early on.”
Lessons to Learn.
Ultimately by capitalizing off this momentum given to them in the first, the Solar Bears were able to maintain and control the pace of the game which weakened the Everblades defense from the start.
“Getting that lead was key tonight… they defend really hard and it’s tough to {kind of} attack when you’re behind,” said Solar Bears Head Coach Matt Carkner in a post-game interview with Alex Walker.
Despite the Solar Bears forcing game 5, Skirving was focused on what was next to get the job done on Saturday:
Regrouping For Game 5.
While game 4 was a minor set-back, the Everblades still have three games under their belt and game 5 can either be another lesson to learn from or an opportunity to close the series out.
The Everblades plan on learning from their mistakes by “regrouping tomorrow and looking at video,” said Skirving. “I don’t think there’s any quit in our group.”
This is the time where trust comes into play and co-exists with evaluating how to regain what was lost in game 4.
Puck drop for game 5 will be at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow night at the Kia Center! Tune in to ESPNSWFL radio to listen.
