Rocco’s Tacos Naples Planning 3 Day Cinco De Mayo Celebration

The Rocco's Tacos Naples location, in the Mercato Shopping Plaza, is planning an entire weekend of Cinco De mayo celebrations next month. With Cinco De Mayo on a Sunday this year, I'm sure it was an easy decision.

With day to night celebrations beginning on Friday, May 3 through Sunday, May 5, holiday festivities feature live entertainment, mariachi music, captivating stilt walkers, delicious Mexican cuisine, Rocco's handcrafted cocktails and signature margaritas, beverage collaborations, and much more.

Rocco's Tacos is elevating the typical holiday experience with sampling opportunities of over 300 varieties within its tequila library with the largest selection in Florida. Tequila and mezcal offerings are available for sipping, within Rocco's signature cocktails, margarita pitchers, and tequila flight samplings.

I was in Rocco's Tacos a couple of months ago and I'll tell this story in case anyone happened to be there that night. Someone on the internet created a Mrs. Roper Party based on the character from the tv show Three's Company. Why not, right? So we met up at The Pub in the Mercato. About 20 woman dressed as Mrs. Roper, one as Chrissy, and I was the only Stanley Roper. The show's a little before my time, but fortunately I could stream it for free for research.

After several drinks at the Pub, we crossed the street to Rocco's Tacos. So a group of woman in red wigs wearing housecoats, one blonde in short shorts, and me in the 70's shirt and vest I got from the thrift store. No one at Rocco's knew what was going on and we didn't really explain. So if you were there that night - that's the story.

Entonces, ¿por qué celebramos el Cinco de Mayo de todos modos? Según el Día del Calendario Nacional , el Cinco de Mayo es una celebración anual que se lleva a cabo el 5 de mayo y conmemora el aniversario de la victoria de México sobre el Imperio Francés en la Batalla de Puebla en 1862.

Aquí en los Estados Unidos, lo hemos americanizado y nos hemos dado otra razón para salir de fiesta, tomar unos tragos y comida deliciosa, todo en una noche de semana (al menos este año es viernes). Es como el día de San Patricio en mayo.

De hecho, el Cinco de Mayo se celebra más en los Estados Unidos que en México. Es por eso que armamos esta lista de 26 restaurantes mexicanos en el suroeste de Florida para el Cinco de Mayo.
