Popeye’s Bonita Springs Location Opens In 2 Weeks
The fact that Popeye’s is opening a location in Bonita Springs may not be that big of deal to some. It’s not their first location in Southwest Florida. But I live in Estero so my main choices are the Fort Myers location on Fowler, or heading out to Golden Gate. So this is some good news for me and everyone who thinks like me. According to Gulfshore Business, Popeyes is targeting a March 15 launch in Bonita Springs. Or is it the 14th of March? I’m hearing 2 different dates. Either way, this means I can pick up a Popeye’s Chicken Sandwich and still have it be hot by the time I get home. Well, depending on traffic of course. You can see on the map here:
that the new Popeye’s is on 41 just south of Bonita Beach Road in between KFC and Wendy’s. It’s right next to “Best of Everything” in that building that used to be a bank.
Now, here’s the catch with Popeye’s – it’s all about the staff. I’ve been to a lot of locations and I can say this with certainty. If an older woman walks up to the counter covered in flour and calls you “honey”, it’s gonna be some good chicken. If it’s someone under the age of 25 and they’re talking with someone else while they take your order, well, not so much. We really won’t know until they open on the 14th or 15th of March. Hopefully the drive thru line moves faster than the one in Golden Gate.
