Sizzle Dining kicked off September 5th and from all accounts has been a great success so far. This is an annual Southwest Florida dining event designed to entice locals through the doors of restaurants during what is traditionally the slowest time of the year. Here is a peek at my Sizzle Dining stop at Stones Throw in Cape Coral.
How Sizzle Dining Works
More than 100 restaurants all over Southwest Florida offer an array of pre-fix dining menus that range from $19 to $59 for two, three and four-course meals. I kicked off my Sizzle Dining tour with lunch at Bicyclette Cookshop in Naples last week and it was fantastic. Photos and more info here.
Sizzle Dining Stop At Stones Throw In Cape Coral
Stones Throw is on Cape Coral Parkway in downtown Cape Coral. You can also enter through the back parking lot on SW 47th Terrace. It’s a spacious place with a large bar and big front terrace. The restaurant only offers Sizzle dinner specials.
I’m trying to hit as many places as possible during the event which runs through September 25th. This week I joined friends at Stones Throw for a three course meal that cost $39.
Wait until you see the entrees offered for the second course. They included an 8 ounce Wagyu beef filet. Chef Heath Higginbotham created a menu that includes a couple of favorite dishes from Stones Throw regular menu along with others special for this dining event.
Sizzle Dining is a fantastic and affordable way to try a new restaurant or visit an old favorite. However, the best part is that while you dine, you end up helping the food insecure in our community. $1 of each meal sold is donated to Blessings in a Backpack.
