Charlotte County Sandbag Sites Now Open For Hurricane Milton
Charlotte County sandbag sites are now open. The county opened three self-service sandbag locations at 5 p.m., Saturday in three locations. The sites are at:
- Ann and Chuck Dever Regional Park, 6961 San Casa Drive in Englewood,Florida (between the two stormwater retention ponds)
- Franz Ross Park, 19333 Quesada Ave., in Port Charlotte, Florida (near the football field)
- Carmalita Park, 2605 Carmalita St., east of Punta Gorda, Florida (near the football field at Franz)
Sand and up to 10 bags will be provided, while supplies last. Residents must bring their own shovels.

The current forecast indicates the earliest arrival of tropical storm winds Tuesday night. Storm surge, flooding rainfall and damaging winds are all potential impacts to our area.
