Hurricane Helene Theme Park Closures & Updates
While those of us who are living in Florida don’t necessarily care about closures to theme parks on a work day in September, there are plenty of people from around the country with plans to visit one of Florida’s many popular theme parks over the coming days.
I’ve seen several comments on Mike’s Weather Page live feeds on Instagram from travelers with plans to head South today thru the weekend.
Here’s what we know right now about Hurricane Helene theme parks and their current plans to stay cautious preparing for and during the impending storm.
Busch Gardens:
Due to the projected path of Hurricane Helene, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has enacted its Named Storm Policy and will be closed Thursday, September 26. Precautions are in place following the parks’ comprehensive weather preparedness plan to ensure the safety of our animals & ambassadors during this time.
Universal Orlando Resort
Due to Hurricane Helene, Universal Volcano Bay will be closed Thursday, September 26. The rest of our resort including our hotels remain operational as we continue to monitor conditions. We anticipate reopening Volcano Bay at its normal hours on Friday, September 27.
Walt Disney World Resort
Walt Disney World Resort is currently operating under normal conditions. We are closely monitoring the path of the storm as we continue to prioritize the safety of our Guests and Cast Members.
We will update this page as new information comes in.
