Sarasota Man Inspired By Dog To Compete On American Ninja Warrior
You know I love any story that has to do with animals and a Sarasota Man was inspired by his dog to compete on American Ninja Warrior.
American Ninja Warrior is one of my favorite shows on TV. The amount of strength and skill these athletes have is absolutely incredible to me. I remember years ago I was talking about how easy it looked and was invited to a gym in Fargo, ND that had an American Ninja Warrior course to try it. Let’s just say I couldn’t even make it past the first obstacle. And neither could any of the guys I was with. While we all worked out, we found out pretty quicky that it goes way beyond that. So while it may look easy on TV, it absolutely is not.

If you’re a fan of the show, you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled for Kyle McCreight of Sarasota. He competed on the show a few years ago and he’s back for more. Inspiration can come from anywhere, and in this case, it came from his dog Tre. McCreight is an Occupational Therapist and adopted Tre, his 3-legged pup from Nate’s Honor Rescue in Lakewood Ranch. Using his skills, he was able to help Tre who now runs around and plays, full of life. McCreight told Sarasota Magazine that it was Tre’s strength and resilience that inspired him to go on TV.
McCreight had trained at gyms offering the type of equipment on the show, eventually building a backyard version for him to train on. We’ll be able to see his hard work and training this summer on American Ninja Warrior with the new season that kicked off last night. The show airs Monday nights at 8pm on NBC.
