Puppy in Peril: Florida Woman Leaves Dog in Hot Truck
No one ever wants to see a puppy in peril. A 34-year-old Florida woman named Ginobeba Obregon got herself arrested after pulling one of the dumbest moves you could make in the summertime. She left her 6-month-old schnauzer, Bigotes, in a hot truck for over an hour while she went shopping. Now, you’d think common sense would kick in, but nope.
According to WFLA, some good Samaritan at the Davis Village shopping plaza spotted the puppy struggling inside the truck. Bigotes was panting like crazy on the armrest because it was a sweltering 110 degrees in that truck. The engine was off, and Obregon didn’t even leave the windows down enough to help. Just cracked them. Really?
This bystander, seeing the situation, decided to be a hero. They snapped a pic of the truck, tried to hunt down the owner, but by the time Obregon strolled back over an hour later, the poor dog was still roasting. That’s when the bystander called the sheriff’s office.
Puppy Rescue:
By the time deputies and firefighters showed up, they got Bigotes out, and thankfully, the little guy was fine. Not hurt, but he could’ve been. This ain’t rocket science, don’t leave your puppy in a hot car.
When the sheriff’s office got a hold of Obregon, she tried to play it off like she was only gone for 30 minutes. Nice try, but the timeline didn’t add up. The citizen had clocked the dog in there for over an hour. Busted.
Obregon was arrested at her home and now faces an animal cruelty charge. Honestly, it’s weird anyone still does this. Just don’t ever leave your dog in a hot car. Problem solved.
