Fake Cop, Real Crime: Florida Man Pretends to be Law Enforcement for 10 Years
Imagine a dude who’s been a fake cop since he was 16! Meet Christopher Levins, the king of wannabe law enforcement. Honestly, he would’ve been better off impersonating Batman. At least then, he’d have an excuse for all that gear.
According to WESH, back in 2013, this guy Levins decided to play fake cop dress-up in a real police uniform and even tried to arrest someone. Stupid move, right? Well, he got busted and served nine months at a youth academy because of it. You’d think that’d be the end of it. But not for this dude. That was just the beginning.
Fake Cop Roles:
For the next ten years, Levins went on a wild ride. He didn’t just stick to one fake cop job, oh no, he went all out. Undercover agent, Homeland Security officer, K9 handler, FBI K9 officer, police officer, even a US Marshall’s Task Force member! You name it, he pretended to be it. And he didn’t get away with it all the time. OCSO says he got arrested twice during his little career in make-believe.
The latest chapter in this saga? Levins got hit with a kidnapping charge. He posed as an officer, grabbed a woman, and even booked her into jail in Lake County. A fake police officer actually put someone in jail! Insane, right?
In 2023, OCSO had enough and decided to check out his home. What did they find? A treasure trove of fake cop gear, firearms, tactical gear, and law enforcement credentials. This guy was fully committed to being a fake cop! Seriously, if he’d put this energy into being Batman, he might’ve done some good out there. But, in the end, he broke the golden rule. “Always be yourself. Unless you can be Batman, in which case always be Batman.”
