The Best Tacos In Southwest Florida Are At A Gas Station In Estero
I love tacos, and with National Taco Day (10/4) coming up, I just wanted to write about them. But just just any tacos. The best tacos. I have enjoyed tacos all around Southwest Florida over the past 20 years. East Naples, Lehigh, Cape Coral, Fort Myers – I’ve had some really good tacos. But there’s one place that stands out above the rest. The best tacos In Southwest Florida.
Let’s check the reviews. An incredible 4.8 stars on Yelp. Even better, an absolutely unheard of 4.9 stars on Google Reviews. It’s nearly impossible to maintain that type of review score because it only takes a couple of one star reviews to knock you down. Is this place really that incredible?
The Best Tacos In Southwest Florida Are At Tacos On The Road In Estero
That’s what the online reviews say. So I made the drive down the road to see for myself.
Tacos On The Road is located inside the Marathon Gas station on Corkscrew Road just off I75. When you walk in, hang a right and you’ll see the menu board.
I met Jose at the counter and told him that I was there to try the highest rated tacos in all of Southwest Florida. So he set me up with 4 different flavors. Chicken, Steak, Pastor, and Shrimp. Getting the drink with your tacos is the fun part. You can order from their board, or, as Jose said, “you can go over to the gas station part for drinks.” At first it seemed a bit of a nuisance to order food at one counter, then go to the other side of the store to get your drink. But it’s actually perfect. Coke, Pepsi, beer, wine, water, energy drinks – get whatever. You’re at a gas station. Bring it back to your table and have a seat. A few minutes later Jose came over.
When reviewer Kaila L. wrote “These are some of the best tacos I’ve had” she wasn’t kidding. They were absolutely incredible. Each of the 4 tacos had a completely distinct flavor, all made with fresh ingredients. All 4 were absolutely amazing. If you made me choose a favorite, I’d go with Pastor, but all four of those tacos hit. Jose even brought me some beans and rice on the side.
So the online review boards have Tacos On The Road as the best.
I’m going to agree. And the price – $3.50 for an amazing taco with fresh ingredients. I was absolutely blown away by how good this was. But, I need balance, so I have to find a negative.
Tacos On The Road has some strange hours. Closing at 4pm on Taco Tuesday. 4:30 close on Saturday, and not open on Sunday. They probably do that to spend time with family, so just check online before you go. Finally, if you want to try something other than tacos, check out their Instagram for some ideas.
