Florida Woman in Hospital Gown Takes Ambulance for a Joyride
Dressed for the occasion? 25-year-old Marquisa Allen recently added a new title to her resume… Amateur ambulance driver. A Florida woman in a hospital gown took a wild ride in a stolen ambulance… And it wasn’t part of her prescription.
According to a Port St. Lucie Police Facebook post, Marquisa, in her fashionable hospital gown, was chilling on a bench outside HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital. But then, she spotted an unoccupied ambulance just begging for a joyride.
Without hesitation, the gown-wearing daredevil hopped into the hot seat and turned up the sirens. And off she went, leaving everyone scratching their heads and wondering if she’d mistaken the ambulance for an Uber.
FHP Troopers swoop in:
Here’s where it gets even more entertaining. Little did Marquisa know, that ambulance was playing hard to get – it had a GPS tracker! So, while she was living out her ambulance driving fantasy, the authorities were silently tracking her every move.
As Marquisa attempted her grand getaway, the ambulance turned into a snitch and ratted her out to the Florida Highway Patrol. They found her stuck in traffic on the Turnpike, presumably honking at slow-moving cars with all the authority of a medical professional who had watched one too many episodes of “Grey’s Anatomy.”
But Marquisa wasn’t ready to throw in the stolen towel just yet. She decided to channel her inner Usain Bolt and took off on foot, perhaps hoping to out sprint the long arm of the law. Spoiler alert… It didn’t work. FHP Troopers swooped in, captured the elusive ambulance thief, and added her to their “you won’t believe what we’ve seen” stories.
In the end, Marquisa Allen of Miami got herself a one-way ticket to the Martin County Jail, not for a spa day, but for giving false information to the police, driving with a suspended license, and resisting arrest. Remember, if you’re going to steal an ambulance, at least do it in style. A hospital gown is optional.
