Una van llena con más de 100,000 dólares en metales preciosos fueron hurtadas de un hogar en el área de Matlacha este pasado Lunes.

Detectives andan tras pistas para encontrar quien hurtó la joyería del garje de Joseph DeMatteo’s en Moon Shell Drive en Matlacha Isle.

Los ladrones abrieron el baúl de la van de Matteo’s y fué como encontrar el cofre del tesoro.

Estaba lleno de todo tipo de joyas.

” Todo , sortijas , collares , aretes , pendientes “,

dijo DeMatteo’s ” Una gran mezcla ” El bandido que entró al garaje tuvo que haber visto la fortuna anteriormente , dijo DeMatteo.

‘ Absolutamente fué alguien que yo conozco.

El Lunes es el único día que no trabajo y ese fué el día que atracaron ” Lo que queda de su trabajo son vitrinas vacías.

En total , 20 cajas que estaban repletas con más de 100,000 dólares en valor de metales preciosos y gemas estaban bien acomodadas en la parte trasera de la minivan Toyota Sienna del 2000.

Los ladrones también saquearon la casa llevándose la caja de joyas de su esposa y su cartera.

En menos de 24 horas , recibió una llamada de que la van fué encontrada abandonada en el Southwest de Cape Coral.

Durante 30 años colectó joyería.

DeMatteo fué un agente inmobiliario en Nueva York donde compró objetos de valor sobrantes que no se vendían.

Cuando el y su esposa se retiraon aquí en la Florida el plan era venderlo como una forma de plan de retiro.

DeMatteo cree que alguien que el conoce planeó esto , siguiendolo desde un show de antiguedades o un pulguero hasta su casa y así sabiendo cuando no estaba en casa.

” Dice que tiene algunas ideas ” Los detectives no tienen pista aún , tanto la Oficina Del Sheriff Del Condado Lee y el Departamento De La Policía De Cape Coral están investigando.
