Tomorrow will be a big day in downtown Fort Myers as a new amphitheater will be celebrating it’s opening day.

The Caloosa Sound Convention Center & Amphitheater is located in Centennial Park right between Luminary Hotel and the Caloosahatchee River. The venue can seat between 2,500-3,000 people with 4 tiers for people to stand or sit on chairs and blankets.

The amphitheater will be used for national comedians and musical acts as well as annual events like ArtFest, Taste of the Town, Music Walk and possibly even plays from Florida Repertory Theatre.

Frank Bonafilia, executive director of Edison Awards told News-Press “It’s a long time coming for the amphitheater to be open and live, but boy is it beautiful. And I think it’s gonna change the whole landscape of downtown.”
