El Departamento de Seguridad Nacional de EE. UU. ha emitido una advertencia a los navegantes del sur de Florida que planean participar en una flotilla a Cuba, según CBS Miami.
“Es ilegal que los navegantes partan con la intención de viajar a Cuba para cualquier propósito sin un permiso,” según un aviso que emitieron el jueves.
Los navegantes que tengan la intención de ingresar a las aguas territoriales cubanas deben obtener el permiso de la guardia costera de Estados Unidos.
Los infractores podrían enfrentar multas de hasta $250,000 por día y 10 años de prisión.
Los organizadores dijeron que solo planean ir a aguas internacionales cerca de la isla, pero no planean cruzar a aguas cubanas. Su esperanza es mostrar a los residentes que tienen seguidores en el sur de Florida.
El viaje se planeó originalmente para el lunes, pero se ha pospuesto para el jueves y solo se llevará a cabo si se presentan 100 navegantes.
