Tyler Watson, un hombre de Oregon, ha presentado una demanda alegando que Dick's Sporting Goods y Walmart lo discriminaron al tratar de comprar un rifle por tener solo 20 años.
Dick's y Walmart restringieron la venta de armas a personas mayores de 21 años, en todo el país, a raíz de la masacre que ocurrió en Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School en Parkland, Florida el 14 de febrero.
La ley de Oregon permite a los residentes comprar escopetas o rifles a partir de los 18 años.
La demanda de Watson, presentada el lunes, afirma que se enfrentó a la discriminación por edad de Dick's y Walmart. Se cree que la demanda es la primera presentada sobre las nuevas políticas de armas.
El vocero de Walmart, Randy Hargrove, dice que la tienda defenderá su nueva política. Ningún vocero de Dick’s ha respondido a la demanda hecha por Watson.
